I cannot believe it is already Thanksgiving week. The holidays are my favorite time of the year so I often start decorating and crafting for holidays early. My favorite projects this fall have been all about pumpkins, including this preppy pumpkin and my pumpkin vases. I am excited to partner with Dollar General to share tips for Holiday entertaining at home including items you need to stock up on and this fun and easy Eucalyptus Garland.
I love the eucalyptus garland because you can customize it to your needs. You can work with different types of eucalyptus and add in additional flowers. I included berries because I love the pop of color and they make me think of the holidays. I also had them in my bouquet 10 years ago for our wedding so they bring back great memories. You can also make it any length. You could place it as a runner down the center of your table with candles or you can hand it like traditional garland. It smells amazing and makes your table.
It is best to make eucalyptus the day of your event, but it can last for a day or two. I purchased two of the three types of eucalyptus for about $15. I was surprised just how easy it was to make.
- Eucalyptus – recommend using 3 different types
- Floral Wire
- Berries or additional flowers

Instructions: How to Make Eucalyptus Garland
- Cut all the eucalyptus to the same length, about 6-12 inches
- Cut the string to your desired length.
Pro Tip: If making garland for your table I like to add extra for it to flow over the side. You also want to include extra string in case you decide to hang it.
- Combine 3-4 pieces of your different eucalyptus together and attach the pieces together with floral wire. Then attach them to the string with floral wire.
Pro Tip: You don’t have to cut the floral wire until the end. You can wrap the branches and then keep it along the bottom of your string.
- Repeat covering the bottom of each section until you have your desired length.
- Lay the garland down on the table and add candles.
Pro Tip: You candles that are in a glass container where the wick is not exposed or tall thick candles where the wick is far away from the garland for safety.
