    Snack Organization Ideas

How is it almost already back to school time?  We just got in B's uniforms next year so I figured it was a good time to start getting organized for back to school.   B is getting so much more independent.  She wants to pack her own lunch and now gets her own snacks.  What I have found this summer is that she is always going for snacks in the pantry, which means she is basically carb loading all summer long.  I realized it was because they were quick grab and go snacks.

I wanted to create a snack station that would allow B to quickly grab snacks to either put in her lunchbox, enjoy at the house or on the go.  We looked at lots of different snack organization ideas.  Since I always try to stick with a simple solution.  So we went online to walmart.com and ordered the following products with Walmart Online Grocery Pickup (which makes shopping especially with a child so much more efficient):

    • Clear Storage containers with a handle and no top
    • Dannon® Danimals® Lowfat Yogurt Smoothies Strawberry Explosion® & Strikin' Strawberry Kiwi
    • Dannon® Danimals® Squeezables Cotton Candy Lowfat Yogurt
    • Cheese cubes
    • Turkey Sticks
    • Grapes
    • Plastic storage bags

We picked the Danimals smoothies and pouches beacuse they are the perfect on-the-go ready solutions that help fuel kids' adventures - at school, after school, during practice or homework, or to start the day! They are a good source of Calcium and Vitamin D with no artificial flavors.  Danimals taste great and B loves them, which makes them a win-win.  wins the great taste kids love and provide enough variety to keep kid and mom happy.

When we got home we I got B involved with creating our snack station ideas.  She helped me stuff all the bags with grapes or turkey sticks with cheese.  And then we placed the snack bags and our smoothies/pouches into our containters.

B loved being a part of the process!  And later that day she told me that our new snack station was life changing for her.  Now instead of grabbing chips from the snack cabinet she is enjoying healthier snacks which makes me so happy!

I made sure to place both containers on the lowest shelf so she could reach them without any help from me.

We wanted to use on of the snack organization ideas in our garage frig so even if we are running out the food we can quicky grab a smoothie and enjoy it at the beach or by the pool.
