Ice Cream Tacos Recipe
Kurt, B and Slade all LOVE ice cream. Right now, we have at least three flavors in our freezer. B loves a fun presentation which is why we thought of ice cream tacos. They are such a fun way to enjoy your favorite flavors. You can also get creative with them by adding toppings of chocolate, marshmallows and sprinkles.
How to Make the Waffle Taco Shell
To make the dessert taco shells you could make waffle cones and shape them into a taco, but if you know me you know I like to keep it super easy. And I do not already have a waffle iron that would work, so I had to get creative.
If you do have a waffle iron to use, you can make homemade taco shell batter. The taco shell batter is just like pancake batter. You simply mix it together and then it is ready to cook. Simply wait until the waffle turns light brown, then flip it over. Repeat on the other side. Once they are cooked, you can mold them into the taco shape.
If you are like me and want to skip making the batter and cooking the waffles, you can use store-bought waffles. All you need to do is defrost the store-bought frozen waffles, then take a muffin tin and flip it over. Place the waffles in between the muffin tin so they make a taco shape. Cook them in the oven for 5-7 minutes at 350 degrees. Let them cool before you add your ice cream, so they do not melt the ice cream even faster. They should keep their shape.
How to Make The Ice Cream Tacos
While the dessert tacos shells are cooling you should take your ice cream out so it can defrost a little.
