Disclosure: The vehicle was provided to me for testing purposes and editorial consideration for our trip to Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. All opinions are 100% my own.
Have you been to Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival yet? Since B was born I have had the misconception that Epcot was best for just the adults and not kids. We love all the Disney Parks, but Epcot was the last one on our list. Well that all changed when we went to the Epcot Candlelight Event over Christmas. I quickly realized that each country offers an amazing hands on experience for kids. We bought the passport for her to use in each country. We colored bears and we talked to her about our own personal experiences in each of the countries. Add that with Anna, Elsa and Soarin and Epcot has become one of our must go to parks.
Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival
Kurt and I had recently watched a behind the scenes film on how the horticulture team prepares for the Flower and Garden Festival so when we were brain storming where to go for Spring Break we both came to the same conclusion, Epcot! After our recent Epcot experience our expectations were super high. And Epcot did not disappoint. We loved it so much we went two days in a row.
Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival: Topiaries
From the moment you walk into the park you are greeted by the most adorable character topiaries of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto. And the most vibrant colors. I definitely spent more time than I planned at the front gate taking pictures and just taking it all in. Make sure you look out for all the living topiaries inspired by beloved Disney Characters and more! Some of our favorites besides the ones listed above include:
Disney Pixar’s Buzz Lightyear near Mission SPACE
Disney Pixar’s Lightning McQueen and Cruz Ramirez near test track
Lady and the Tramp in Italy
Troll in Norway
Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival: Garden Destinations
Make sure to walk through a fresh collection of imaginative spring gardens. Our favorite one was The Goodness Garden Butterfly House near Future World West.
Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival: Play Gardens
B was in heaven in both the Road to Florida 500 near test track and the New Imagination Play Garden in Future World West. I think she would have stayed at the Imagination Play Garden all day if we let her. You could see her imagination at work as she made music, climbed up and went under all the structures.
Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival: Garden Rocks Concert Series
We were there mid-week so we missed seeing any of the concerts, but if you are there Friday-Monday check out the schedule online. They have every type of music from the Village People to Bo Bice.
Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival: Food and Drink
Much like the Epcot Food and Wine Festival there are pop up places to get all the food and drink you need. My personal favorite is the Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade from Pineapple Promenade in the showcase plaza. It is so refreshing and is non-alcoholic so it is a great option if your kids always want to share with you.
Bonus:
If you are attending around Easter look for their Egg-stravaganza Scavenger Hunt. The supplies are only available for a limited time. You can purchase a map and sticks at Port of Entry. Then you set of around the World Showcase on an Easter egg hunt. Each of the eggs is oversized and is inspired by a Disney Character. Once you have found them all you can show your completed map for a special prize.
Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
Thank you to Mitsbuishi for our ride. This crossover is the perfect size car for our trip. Our favorite part of the car is the apple play. From the moment you plug your phone into the car apps from your phone are pulled up onto the7” touchscreen display audio system. Apple Play feature
Additionally we also really liked the following features:
- Rearview Camera - The wide-angle view of the rearview camera appears on the touchscreen as soon as you put the car into reserve. It is the perfect feature to assist you when parallel parking or backing up.
- The Lane Departure Warning (LDW)5 system - If you do not use your signal the system beeps and lights up if it detects the vehicle leaving its lane unintentionally.
- Rain sensing Windshield wipers - We ended up traveling on a couple of super rainy days so this feature came in handy. The available automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers activate when it starts to rain and they adjust to match the frequency of rainfall so you can continue to see everything in front of you.
