DIY Tutorial: Decorating with Nautical Knots

I love the look of decorative rope for nautical décor.

    Items you need:

    • Frames, Chalk Board and or Buckets – I found these at Target for $3
    • Super Glue
    • Rope
    • Ribbon (optional)

Step 1 – I created a double figure eight knot.  I watched a couple of YouTube videos and found that Martha Stewart’s tutorial was simple and straight forward.

Step 2 – Once I had the knots ready I super glued the knot and tied the rest of the rope around the back for the buckets and for the chalk boards I glued the extra rope onto the back.  For the picture frame I cut the rope short just after the knot.

Optional – Add decorative ribbon on the handle of the buckets.

Having been through Boy Scouts my wife thought it would be a great idea if I learned a few knots that she could add to the nautical decor theme she has for a room in the house. I'll have to share this post with her to see what she thinks of this knot idea, but I'm sure she'll like it. Thanks for the interesting nautical knot DIY post.
