We just returned from the most amazing family vacation at Club Med Sandpiper Bay in Port St. Lucie, Florida.  Sandpiper Bay is Club Med’s only US destination. The all-inclusive resort is located on St Lucie River.  There is literally something for everyone in your party including fun activities like water sports, tennis, golf (mini and regular), play pickle ball and flying trapeze lessons, and delicious food.  It is the ultimate location for a memorable vacation at a reasonable price.

club med sandpiper bay Thank you to Club Med Sandpiper Bay for hosting us.

Are you familiar with Club Med?   Club Med brings guests and families together through fun activities, gorgeous properties and delicious food.  As well as gives parents a break with kid's club and adult only restaurants and pools.  We shared all of the details of our stay on IG stories.  I also got a lot of questions from you guys, so I wanted to create your guide to Club Med Sandpiper Bay by answering the most common questions. And share some of our favorite photos.

Where is Club Med Sandpiper Bay located?

Sandpiper Club Med is located in Port St. Lucie, Florida along the St Lucie River.  Port St. Lucie is on the East Coast of Florida between West Palm and Vero.

Does Sandpiper Club Med have a Beach or Bay?

Sandpiper Bay has a great sandy area directly on the river that is ideal for everything from guests launching non-motorized water toys (that are all included), playing corn hole, digging in the sand or just relaxing under the beautiful palm trees.

Does Club Med Sandpiper have a beach?

Is Club Med Sandpiper all inclusive resort?

Yes, Club Med Sandpiper is all inclusive resort, actually all Club Med properties are inclusive resorts.  It is the perfect resort for sport loving guests with kids of all ages.  All of your food and drinks (premium drinks have an up charge), kid's club activities (for kids 4-17), tennis instruction, non motorized water toys like sailboats, kayaks, and standup paddle boards, put put, play pickle ball and even trapeze lessons (yes, there's an onsite flying trapeze that both kids and adults can use) and nightly entertainment are included in your room rates.

    Is Club Med Sandpiper all-inclusive?

How far is Club Med Sandpiper from an airport?

We were lucky to be able to drive; it took us an hour and 15 minutes from Boca Raton.  If you fly there are a number of airports that you can pick from ranging from 1-2 hours from the property.

What airport is closest to Sandpiper Club Med?

The closest large commercial airport to Club Med Sandpiper Bay is Palm Beach International airport, PBI.  The resort is just under an hour from PBI.  You could also fly into Fort Lauderdale International Airport, FLL.  The drive from FLL is just under 2 hours.  Or if you want to do a combination trip of an all-inclusive before or after the theme parks you could fly into Orlando.  The drive from Orlando is just under two hours depending on traffic.

Is golf included at Sandpiper Club Med?

As a guest you have access to the driving range & lessons are available. Currently, the course is closed, as a guest you have access to The Saints Golf course, 18-holes, 5 minutes away from the resort.

What Additional Safety Precautions are they taking at Club Med Sandpiper Bay

If you follow me on IG you know we have been very conservative and cautious about our families safety during the pandemic, especially after having a baby in the middle of it.  One of the reasons we picked Sandpiper Bay is because of their additional safety precautions for all guests.  First the resort is huge, they have over 50 acres of wide open spaces with lots of outdoor activities.

Each guest room open to the outside, so you don't have to worry about being inside with others.

They have Safe Together protocols in place that includes frequent sanitization of all public spaces.  The only time you need to go inside is to get your meals. When you do masks are required and they take everyone's temperatures as you walk in.  Food is single-plated meaning that at the buffet the staff plates all the food for you at each station.   You can sit outside or inside spaced apart.  They are also operating at limited capacity.

Tips for what to do before arrival at Club Med

Download the Club Med app.  This will allow you start to understand property and give you the schedule for each day during your trip even before you check into your room. It was a fun way for all of us to get excited about our trip before we arrived.

What should I pack for my trip to Club Med Sandpiper Bay

This will depend on the activities you plan to do at the resort we brought tennis clothes since we knew we would be playing everyday.  We brought our racquets, but they have loaners available too.  You definitely want to bring you bathing suits, coverups, googles for the kids and lots of sunscreen.

I wish we had packed a pool float, they have them at the gift shop if you don't have room or just don't want the hassle.  If you want to try the trapeze you need to have socks.

I also wish we had packed a white shirt for B to use for the tie-dye party.  They have white shirts you can buy at the gift shop if you want to participate.

The restaurants are resort casual for night time too, we packed sundresses for every night because we like to dress up on holiday.  There are lots of great spots for photos so you may want to keep that in mind.

    How does kid's club work

The first day we tried to get B to go to kid's club she quickly shared that she likes to be with her parents on vacation, which was so sweet.  After that comments we stopped pushing her to go. The second to last day of our trip she met a bunch of kids her own age at the pool.  They were all at kid's club.  When she learned that as an 8 year old (with your parents permission) you can sign yourself in and out of kid's club she was in.

Kid's club is open for the full day at no cost for kids over 4.  They have several different age groups.  Each group has a schedule that included everything the resort had to offer.

For an additional fee you could sign up for the pj camp that took the kids for the evening.  When Slade is a little older we look forward to testing that service out. A kid free night while on holiday sounds like a dream.

Do they have special programs for babies

Do they have special programs for babies at Club Med Sandpiper Bay

We were super impressed with the Club Med Baby Program.  When we arrived our room already had

    • Bathtub for Slade
    • Bottle warmer
    • Pack N' Play

They also have changing tables and trollers available.

In the restaurant they had an entire section for babies that included another bottle warming station and baby food.  They really thought of everything!

Is Club Med Sandpiper worth the price?

For us it was 100% worth the price.  We are already planning our next trip and plan to come with extended family in June.

From sunrise to when you go to sleep there is something fun for you to do.  The sunrise over the river was so beautiful, our first morning we watch dolphin swimming in the river on our way to breakfast.  Every day we played tennis.  Then we spent the day switching back and forth between swimming, playing in the splash pad, using the water toys, getting drinks, play mini golf, the trapeze or one of the activities like arts and crafts.

All of the meals were incredible.  We sat at the same table for almost all our meals.  They provided a highchair for Slade and we dined with the most amazing view of the river.

B went to kid's club and LOVE it.  She made incredible friends who she played with as if they had been friends for years.   The resort is so lush and beautiful you feel like you are on a tropical island instead of in South Florida.  B literally cried when we left.  She made us promise that we would be back.

If you are looking for a vacation that everyone in your family will love Club Med is the perfect resort for you!  Whether you want to lay out by the pool with a book or you want to have an active vacation there is literally something for everyone.  We cannot wait to go back!!!

Hello I just wanted to see when you visited club med. We are supposed to go in to October but there are a lot of mixed reviews. Now I’m not sure if we made the right choice.

I've been waiting on hold for 1 hr 50 minutes and the line got dropped. Now I'm waiting (25 minutes so far) for a callback. I have questions regarding booking two separate rooms. Is there a better number to call other than 1-888-932-25282?
