We just returned from the most fantastic family vacation at Sandpiper Bay in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Sandpiper Bay was Club Med’s only US destination now it is a Wyndham property. The all-inclusive resort is located on the St. Lucie River. There is literally something for everyone at your party, including fun activities like water sports, tennis, golf (mini and regular), play pickleball and flying trapeze lessons, and delicious food. It is the ultimate location for a memorable vacation at a reasonable price.

Sandpiper is located in Port St. Lucie, Florida along the St Lucie River. Port St. Lucie is between West Palm and Vero on the East Coast of Florida.
Does Sandpiper have a Beach or Bay?
Sandpiper Bay has a great sandy area directly on the river that is ideal for everything from guests launching non-motorized water toys (that are all included), playing corn hole, digging in the sand, or just relaxing under the beautiful palm trees.

Tips for what to do before arrival
Check out the website. This will allow you to start to understand the property and give you the schedule for each day during your trip, even before you check into your room. It was a fun way for all of us to get excited about our trip before we arrived.
What should I pack for my trip to Sandpiper Bay?
This will depend on the activities you plan to do at the resort. We brought tennis clothes since we knew we would be playing every day. We brought our racquets, but they have loaners available too. You definitely want to bring your bathing suits, coverups, goggles for the kids, and lots of sunscreens.
I wish we had packed a pool float; they have them at the gift shop if you don't have room or just don't want the hassle. If you want to try the trapeze, you need to have socks.
I also wish we had packed a white shirt for B to use for the tie-dye party. They have white shirts you can buy at the gift shop if you want to participate.
The restaurants are resort casual for night time too; we packed sundresses for every night because we like to dress up on holiday. There are many great spots for photos so you may want to keep that in mind.
How does the kid's club work
This was our experience when it was a Club Med. I need to find out if they still have the Kid's club.
The first day we tried to get B to go to the kid's club she quickly shared that she likes to be with her parents on vacation, which was so sweet. After that comment, we stopped pushing her to go. On the second to last day of our trip she met a bunch of kids her age at the pool. They were all at the kid's club. When she learned that as an 8-year-old (with your parent's permission) you can sign yourself in and out of the kid's club she was in.
Kid's Club is open for the full day at no cost for kids over 4. They have several different age groups. Each group had a schedule that included everything the resort had to offer.
For an additional fee, you could sign up for the pj camp that took the kids for the evening. When Slade is a little older, we look forward to testing that service out. A kid-free night while on holiday sounds like a dream.
Do they have special programs for babies?
We were super impressed with the Club Med Baby Program. When we arrived, our room already had
- Bathtub for Slade
- Bottle warmer
- Pack N' Play
They also have to change tables and trollers available.
The restaurant had an entire section for babies that included another bottle warming station and baby food. They really thought of everything!
Is Sandpiper worth the price?
For us, it was 100% worth the price. We are planning our next trip and will accompany our extended family in June.
From sunrise to when you go to sleep, there is something fun for you to do. The sunrise over the river was so beautiful, our first morning we watch dolphin swimming in the river on our way to breakfast. Every day we played tennis. Then we spent the day switching back and forth between swimming, playing in the splash pad, using the water toys, getting drinks, playing mini golf, the trapeze, or one of the activities like arts and crafts.
All of the meals were incredible. We sat at the same table for almost all our meals. They provided a highchair for Slade, and we dined with the most fantastic river view.
B went to the kid's club and loved it. She made incredible friends she played with as if they had been friends for years. The resort is so lush and beautiful that you feel like you are on a tropical island instead of in South Florida. B literally cried when we left. She made us promise that we would be back.
If you are looking for a vacation that everyone in your family will love Club Med is the perfect resort! Whether you want to lay out by the pool with a book or have an active vacation, there is something for everyone. We cannot wait to go back!!!

I've been waiting on hold for 1 hr 50 minutes and the line got dropped. Now I'm waiting (25 minutes so far) for a callback. I have questions regarding booking two separate rooms. Is there a better number to call other than 1-888-932-25282?
