Just this week the temperature dipped down below the 80s which reminds me that it is almost the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!!! I have been working on my list of things to do in Florida to celebrate Christmas which made me think of all the ways we can Celebrate Christmas with Dogs. Addy has become an amazing part of our family, I shared her rescue story here if you are thinking about rescuing a dog this holiday.
How to Celebrate Christmas with Dogs
For us dogs are a part of our family. B is so excited to include Addy in our plans to Christmas plans. We put together a bucket list of things to help us celebrate Christmas with dogs. Our list from last year 5 Ways to Savor Holidays with your Dog was more about safety like the food that your dogs need to avoid. Since this year is our second year with Addy our bucket list is all about having fun as a family!
Dog Friendly Christmas Events
Look for Christmas Events like tree lightening that would be dog friendly. In South Florida, we have some amazing tree lightening including a 100 foot Christmas Tree and a Sand Tree. They are all dog friendly events that we plan on bringing Addy to this year. We may avoid bringing her to the actual tree lightening because they are very crowded, but we will bring her to see the trees later in the season.
Take your Dog Shopping
One of the reasons we love shopping at PetSmart is because it is an outing for the entire family including Addy. We also love their staff and their deals like this one that is running now. Get a $10 PetSmart gift card when you spend $40 on Purina Pro Plan. (Make purchases from 10/15/18 –11/24/18. Upload receipt by 12/1/18.) The Offer will be fulfilled within 8–10 weeks from the submission date. Get all the details here.
They have a great selection of food and toys for our girl. We bought the Purina Pro Plan Bright Mind and you can too by hovering over the photo to click through to PetSmart to shop these products. We picked it because it includes real high-quality meat, including chicken or turkey, as the #1 ingredient in dry products. This product is backed by 85+ years of Purina research. They employ over 500 scientists around the world.
The Pro Plan has been fueling pets like Addy, since 1986. We have big plans to help us celebrate Christmas with Addy so we needed a food that would help her keep up with all our plans. We know the nutrition in Pro Plan will helps fuel more adventures together.
Dress for the Holidays
B loves that PetSmart has a great selection of Christmas outfits for dogs of all sizes including Addy. I see a Santa outfit in her future.
I hope she will like it as much as Mac.
Photo with Santa
Now that Addy is calming down a little we are excited to take her to meet Santa. Did you know that PetSmart offers photos with Santa? You can take your pets too, December 9, 10, 16 & 17th.
Christmas Gifts for your Pets
One of my favorite holiday memories with my first dog Mac was watching her open up gifts on Christmas morning. She used a combination of biting and scratching to get the wrapping paper off. It was so cute.
Bake Holiday Treats for your Pets
When you are baking Christmas cookies like these Salty Sweet Chocolate Caramel Cookies don't forget to make treats that you dogs can enjoy too. We are going to try some peanut butter dog treats this year.
Advent Calendar for Dogs
We do an Advent calendar for B with Christmas books. This year we will create a simple advent calendar for Addy too. We will fill it with small treats and toys to help all of us get into the spirit.
