PayPal has teamed up with Walmart to make managing finances more accessible than ever! Introducing PayPal cash in and cash out money services. In partnership with PayPal I am sharing How to Make Money as a Blogger.
We spent Thanksgiving in Baltimore with my dad's family. It was a magical long weekend, celebrating everything we have to be thankful for including family, friends and my business. It has been three years since I last saw my Baltimore cousins. Over the last three years one of my cousins got married and had twin girls and the other took a year to travel around the world. Both of them could not wait to hear about how much my blog has grown. I was happy to share with them how the blog has truly grown from a passion project to a full time career.
No surprise one of their first questions was how do you make money as a blogger. This has become a very popular topic so, I thought it was a good time to share the three main ways I make money blogging.
How to Make Money as a Blogger
One of the reasons I started the blog was to give me flexibility to be with Bailey. I would have never dreamed that it would turn into a business that we get to do together. It is so cute when she comes home from school she asks me, "Mommy, what campaigns do we have today?"
Sponsored Content
A majority of my income from blogging comes from partnering with brands to produce content for them. We create recipes, DIY projects, share travel inspiration and do toy unboxing videos.
There are three ways that I am connected with brands. The first is through sponsor networks. With these networks, the brands post their campaign goals, timeliness and the budget and the influencers like myself pitch them our ideas. They select the bloggers who best align with their vision for the campaign and that will achieve their campaign goals.
The second way I work with brands is working directly with them. This is through either their PR firm or a direct brand contact.
Ads
There are a number of ad networks who will manage all of your ad placements on your blog for you. This is a revenue that I fought for a really long time. I was worried that you, my reader would not want to scroll through ads to read my content.
Ads are a way of life. As consumers, we are constantly seeing them. One of 2018 goals were to increase my passive income. Ad and Affiliate income are two great ways to make money while you sleep.
Affiliate Income
When I make a product recommendation, someone clicks on the link and makes a purchase I may get a small commission. There are a number of affiliate programs from everything from clothes to courses.
During my Permission to Hustle retreat I was super inspired by one of the speakers, Keri Lyn from She Saved. Making significant affiliate income takes a strong strategy.
I currently do gift guides like: Hostess Gift Ideas and Hottest Christmas Toys.
And add affiliate links into DIY posts like: DIY Cabbage Centerpiece and DIY Monogram Ring Dish.
These links are there to also make it easier for you to find the products so you can do the crafts as well.
Tools for How to Make Money as a Blogger
Since blogging is a non-traditional job I had to look into new tools to support support my financial goals. I went from one direct deposit bi-monthly to lots of payment types with all sorts of terms. PayPal’s cash in and cash out services gives you the flexibility to manage your cash flow on your own terms. NO MORE spending time cashing checks and no high fees.
PayPal has a new partnership with Walmart to launch PayPal cash in and cash out money services. Their program makes managing finances more convenient than ever!
