This post, Must Haves to Include in Your Travel Toiletry Bag, has been sponsored by Bayer. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
If you follow Happy Family Blog, you know we LOVE to travel. Before our daughter was born, my thought was, if you had your prescription medicines, you could buy anything else you forgot once you got there. Fast forward to life with a child and some trips to remote places like the islands of the Bahamas and Alaska. I have changed my tune! When traveling with kids or to remote places, you don't want an allergy attack, a sore back, or a cold to ruin your trip.
My dad is a doctor, and his travel toiletry bag looks like he had raided a local hospital. He was an Eagle Scout and he truly is always prepared for every situation that could present itself.
Travel Toiletry Bag
Since I am not a medical doctor, my products to include in your travel toiletry bag consists of less than 10 items you can find at your local Walmart including Aleve®, Alka-Seltzer Plus®, Claritin®, and MiraLAX®. I also include One A Day® for nutritional support. I put them in a clear travel toiletry bag so that it is easy to see all the products I may need throughout the trip.
Aleve
Traveling often means uncomfortable airplane seats, sitting down too much, and lifting heavy luggage. So, the first medicine I always have in my travel toiletry bag is the proven pain relief of minor back and muscle aches: Aleve. With just two pills*, you can have relief that lasts all day†.
*Based on minimum labeled dosing.
†Each pill has the strength to last 12 hours
Alka-Seltzer Plus
Another challenge with traveling is the cold and cough germs that seem to be everywhere, from airplanes to hotel rooms. Alka-Seltzer Plus helps you address your cold & cough symptoms head on, including a cough, headache, body ache, sore throat, runny nose, sneezing, and nasal/sinus congestion.
Claritin
When you are traveling to new places, there is also a chance that you may be exposed to things you may be allergic to. Claritin helps you fight both indoor allergies like pets, dust, and mold as well as outdoor allergies. I don't want my medicine to knock me out. So, I love that Claritin is non-drowsy. Did you know there are over 200 allergens? Claritin provides 24-hour relief of symptoms that can be triggered by allergens.
MiraLAX
I hope I am not the only one who indulges in food I would normally avoid at home. Sometimes, these foods cause constipation. MiraLAX is the #1 brand choice for effective, gentle, occasional constipation relief. You can mix it into any beverage; both hot and cold ones work since it is taste-free. It is also sugar-, gluten-, and stimulant-free. It works with the water in your body without causing harsh side effects.
One A Day Women’s VitaCraves
The final item I pack in my travel toiletry bag is multivitamins. These One a Day Women's VitaCraves are designed for women. They are free of artificial sweeteners, dairy, egg, fish/shellfish allergens, and high fructose corn syrup. They support:
Bone health with Calcium and Vitamin D*
Immune health with Vitamins A, C, D, E, and Zinc*
Healthy hair, smooth skin, and strong nails with Vitamins A, C, and E; Biotin; and Zinc*
Eye health with Vitamins A, C, and E*
