What is better than Taco Tuesday? A party all about Tacos. Taco Bout a Party: A Fiesta Themed Party
Hello Summer! If you follow me you know that for one of my goals for 2019 was to be better with meal planning. One of the things that has worked the best is themed days, one of our favorites is Taco Tuesday. So, when Oriental Trading asked to partner on a fiesta themed party. I knew it was the perfect time to host a Taco Bout a Party, fiesta themed party.
Taco Bout a Party
I generally do parties as stylized shoots, but since it is summer and we are always looking for an excuse to celebrate we turned this party into an end of camp pool party celebration. Taco Bout a Party is such a fun theme because it can be for any type of party from baby shower, to birthday party or just an excuse to have friends over for a pool party! Glad I took photos before everyone arrived. We were so busy celebrating with our favorite moms and kids I forgot to take any photos.
Taco Bout a Party Decor
I instantly fell in love this Fiesta Baby Cactus theme from OT. I ordered the coordinating cups, plates and napkins. I paired them with chargers, white plates and pink plastic plates. As well as my favorite flowers, peonies and hydrangeas. I also fell in love with these Cactus Plastic Margarita Glasses.
I used them for drink on the bar cart, but wanted to also include them in the table so I used the margarita glass as a vase for the hydrangeas.
I also ordered Cactus Pool Float. Which not only made a fun photo prop it was perfect for our pool party.
Taco Bout a Party Food
For the party, we had kid friendly margaritas, just kidding they are just pink lemonade. I added sugar to the rim of the glasses and the kids were so excited for the fancy drinks.
For lunch we served tacos, no surprise. Since it was right after camp I went with a no cook option with rotisserie chicken. I setup a DIY Taco bar with hard and soft tortillas, chopped chicken, lettuce, cheese, salsa, and sour cream. Our friends brought chips, guacamole, fruit and juice.
For dessert, we had cupcakes. This is the first time I have ordered all the same flavor. It made it so easy. B added some candy so everyone could decorate their own cupcakes. To keep them in the theme I added these adorable cactus food picks. And B's idea of decorating them with candy made for a fun pre-swimming activity.
