We love to celebrate so I never skip an opportunity to celebrate.
Decor
Flags, flags, and more flags. Nothing says America like our flag. These flag napkins we found at Party City combined with the flag centerpiece and simple blue and white cups and plates makes for fun festive easy decor.
Drinks
I love cookie cutters and use them to cut shapes for everything from sandwiches to fruit. These watermelon shaped star cutouts and blue berries add flavor and decor to your pitcher of water.
Food
Red and white salad is festive and delicious with strawberries, almonds and goat cheese.
Apps as simple as chips and dip coordinate with the theme with the American flag napkins.
We wanted to keep the food very American with corn bread and hot dogs. Our favorite way to prepare hot dogs is in the crock pot. All you have to do is put the hot dogs into the crock pot, no water needed cook on high for 2 hours. This corn bread tastes like cake because cake is the secret ingredient.
Dessert
I have made these fruit kabobs for a birthday party. They were such a hit I knew I needed to make them again. I used a mix of apples, watermelon and blueberries. I flipped the half of a watermelon over and stuck the kabobs into it. The look on the kids faces was priceless. Bailey had to grab one before her friends arrived.
Bailey and I channeled my Aunt Cheryl and made whipped cream from scratch and did layers of angel food cake with strawberries and blueberries. It was always too pretty to eat.
This oreo cheesecake was amazing. I will share the recipe soon. I added berries in the shape of the American flag to keep with our theme.
What is your favorite way to celebrate the 4th of July?
