Enjoy an open faced turkey sandwich with this simple recipe. I love an open faced sandwich and this turkey sandwich is my go to lunch option. It is especially yummy when you make it hot.
The new year is here, and it is time to be your "Best You". For me, one of my goals for myself and my family is to eat more natural colors throughout the day. I used to say eat more fruits and vegetables, but I think that eating the rainbow of colors is a more fun way to get all the needed vitamins.
One of my favorite lunches lately is this turkey sandwich. I add it on top of my favorite gluten-free bread, toast it, add veggies and it’s good to go! I have been eating it at least 5 days a week. Because when you find a meal you enjoy why not have it on repeat.

What is an Open Faced Sandwich
An open faced sandwich can also be called a bread baser, bread platter or tartine. It sounds fake, but basically it is a sandwich without the top piece of bread.
What to Include on Your Turkey Sandwich
Personally, I start with a gluten-free bread or bagel, but you can start with your favorite type of bread. Then I layer on Hillshire Farm Oven Roasted Turkey Breast. Their turkey is carefully crafted and made with high quality ingredients. They have no artificial flavors and they do not add any nitrates or nitrites*
*Except for those naturally occurring in the celery juice powder and sea salt.
I love heating up the sandwich in the toaster oven. I have found that it tastes best when you toast the bread first and then toast it a second time with the turkey on top. Heating up the sandwich changes it from just a sandwich to a meal for me.
For this year, I am focused on eating a rainbow of colors I love the idea of adding vegetables to this hot turkey sandwich. I like the vegetables fresh, so I add them after the sandwich has been toasted the second time.
