Ingredients in this Easy One Pot Pasta Recipes
I am always looking for more ways to add vegetables to my meals. This one pot pasta includes broccoli, but you could swap that out for other vegetables like peas. For spices you only need garlic powder. For the sauce, your base is chicken broth combined with cream cheese and cheddar cheese. You can use your favorite type of pasta.
Tips for One Pot Pasta:
- Depending on how large you like your pieces of ham to be, you can use either Diced Ham, or Cubed Ham. It is hard to pick a favorite!
- If you have a family member who wants to stay dairy free, the pasta has a great flavor with just the broth and garlic powder so you can easily skip the cream cheese and cheddar cheese.
- If you want to make it gluten free, this recipe works with gluten free pasta options as well!
- Buy the broccoli already chopped and in a steamer bag. You can simply press start on the microwave and your broccoli is ready in about 5 minutes.
One Pot Pasta with Ham and Broccoli
Ingredients
· 3 cups Smithfield ® Anytime Favorites ® Diced Ham or Smithfield ® Anytime Favorites ® Cubed Ham
· 16 oz pasta
· 4 cups chicken broth
· 1 teaspoon garlic powder
· 2 oz. cream cheese
· ½ cup cheddar cheese
· 14 oz. frozen broccoli
Instructions
1. In a large pot combine chicken broth and garlic powder.
2. Cook the broccoli in the microwave or steam it.
3. Once the broth is boiling add in your pasta. Make sure the pasta is fully covered. Then reduce the heat to a low boil.
4. Cook for 10-12 minutes or until the pasta is cooked. Stir the pasta constantly. As the pasta cooks it will soak up most of the liquid so you don't want the pasta to stick to the bottom of the pot.
5. Then add in the cream cheese and cheddar cheese until melted. Finally add in the broccoli and enjoy.
