    Newborn Diaper Bag Checklist

With our first child we way over bought on everything from clothes, to supplies to toys.  Both B's bedroom, our attic, our linen closet and her playroom were all overflowing with things.  With Slade I was determined to not over buy and try to stick to the things we needed.  Today I am sharing my checklist for newborn diaper bag.  I like to use the same bag over and over again so I can have it stocked and ready to go whenever we are ready to walk out the door.

Sometimes for quick trips like picking B up from school I just grab our changing pad fit that has diaper, wipes and a pacifier.

      - I love having portable changing pad that includes space for your diaper, wipes and an extra pocket for other essentials.  .
      - Make life with a new baby easier with a lightweight and ultra compact changing pad. You can attach it to the outside of your diaper bag or put it into your bag.  Then you always have a changing pad with you so you can make anywhere from the back of your car to a couch an easy place to do a quick change.
      - It has extra sponge padding so that your baby will stay comfortable.  It also keeps the other surfaces clean.
      - This changing pad is easy to clean.  All you need to do is simply wipe off the pad after use.

    • Change of clothes

Accidents happen.  So it is best to always have an extra outfit on hand so you are ready for a quick change when needed.

    • Blanket or fan depending on the weather

Babies can struggle to regulate their temperature especially when they are babies.  Even in Florida I always have a blanket with me to help cover Slade up.

    • Hand Sanitizer

Hand sanitizer is important to have for a quick clean up after a diaper change.

    • Bottle and formula or cover for breastfeeding

While babies often eat every 3-4 hours you never know when your trip out of the house will last longer so make sure you have food ready for your baby.

    • Pacifier

This recommendation is assuming your baby takes one.  I feel like we have pacifiers stashed all around the house and our cars.  But we also try to have a backup in the diaper bag too. A pacifier is an instant source of comfort when baby is tired or upset.

    • Baby Toy

We like to have a teething toy since they are small and important for development.  Mouthing helps babies explore the world using their senses to learn about texture, taste and temperature and build muscles they will use later in life for eating and speaking.  They are also easy to clean.

    • Burp Cloth and Bib

From spitting up to drooling a burp cloth and a bib are both always in me diaper bag.

Do you have any must have diaper bag items that I missed.
