As I have shared before Bailey is obsessed with baby dolls and we have been fortunate to receive lots of hand me down clothes and toys from family and friends. One of Bailey's favorite dolls is a hand me down. As long as I can remember it has had a couple of marker stains. She wants to bring the doll with us everywhere so it was finally time to figure out how to remove the marker. I could not believe how easy it was.
Supplies
- The doll
- Hand sanitizer
- Tooth brush
Take the hand sanitizer and spray it on the stain. Then brush the stain away with the toothbrush. We had to repeat 3 times. I was shocked how easy it was. Literally Bailey helped with every step.

Of course. I am sure it will not be the last time we will need to remove marker from a doll.

Hand sanitizer and rubbing alcohol are underrated cleaning agents. They work just as well as many other toxic store-bought products and have many uses. Thanks for sharing this tip!

So true. I have a new found appreciation for not only hand sanitizer, but also vinegar and baking soda. Making what they can do. Thank you for reading and commenting.

I'm trying to remove sharpie from a doll that's we've had in my family for about 20 years and I've tried six different things including this and its didn't work. How old is your doll?
Cristy says
The baby doll was probably 1-3 years old. Sorry it did not work for you

You should try benzoyl peroxide ( acne treatment - about $6.00 per tube) Cand place the doll in the bright sun. It may take several days of application but it works. I had two big red marker stains on my Ashton Drake Jennifer doll's forehead,, but now they are completely gone.
