    How to Clean Bath Toys

Earlier this week my best best texted me asking how often I clean my daughter's bath toys.  It made me realize I have never cleaned them.  We always try to squeeze all the water out of them, but I have never cleaned them.  I started researching different options.  I love love love vinegar so I selected the vinegar method.  Here is how to clean bath toys

What you Need to Clean Bath Toys

    Supplies

    • Bath toys
    • Tap water
    • Vinegar
    • Towel
    • Bowl large enough to hold all the toys
    • Glue gun (if you want to do the 2nd part and prevent water from going in them)

    Steps to Clean Bath Toys

    Step 1

Gather the supplies.  I cleaned them in the kitchen sink.  Combine ¼ cup of vinegar for every gallon of water (16 cups of water) add the toys and let it soak for an hour or two.  Most of our toys floated to the top so I had to squeeze them to fill them with water.

I held each of them under the light to look for mold. Out of all of them I only found one that looked like it had mold in it. I cut into it and I was right. Since we have so many toys I threw away all the ducks from oriental trading company just to be safe.

    Step 2

Squeeze out all the excess water/vinegar solution and rinse off with water.  I lined them all up on a towel to dry overnight.

    Step 3

Use a hot glue gun to close up all the water holes.

Any other tricks that have worked for you?

        Hi Tracie,
I was really excited to no longer having to squeeze out all the water out of our bath toys after bath time. Love a hot glue gun, took me a while to find mine. Thank you for reading and commenting.

I've tried the hot glue, make sure it cannot be peeled off by little fingernails!
