We love cooking and baking special snacks for every occasion including our family movie night. Bailey and I love a good theme. For our Ghostbuster’s Movie night Bailey and I brain stormed yummy treats to serve. We quickly narrowed down the options and decided that popcorn is always a must for the movies. Bailey loved the idea of adding slime so we set out to make Ecto Slime Popcorn! Our Slime Popcorn is the perfect mix of sweet and salty. I am impressed that we were able to get pictures of it before it was all gone. It was amazing and we will be making it again.
You can use any container you want. If you want to recreate our Ghostbuster bags please download the popcorn-decoration here. Simple print, cut the paper in half and glue to the brown paper bags. The instructions for our Ecto Slime Popcorn are below.
My husband is a movie lover. Before kids we went to the movies every weekend sometimes twice a week. Now date nights at the movies are rare. The only good thing is that now we can have movie nights at home with movies we missed in the theater like the new Ghostbusters, check out the trailer here. Since having our daughter my husband has been counting down the days until he can introduce her to some of his favorite movies. For our family movie night we selected a few scenes for Bailey to watch with us before she went to bed. She loves the parts where people get slimed!! Once we got her down Kurt and I watched the rest of the movie just the two of us! As a mom the 10GB of data is the most important part of our phone plan. I remember before kids not understanding why people let their kids use their phones. Fast forward to now and I am so thankful to YouTube and other apps they have saved the day more than I would like to admit during long car rides or when I am on a deadline. Not to mention the research I do on my phone throughout the day. With 10GB of data I don’t have to worry that we will run out of data when we need it.

To see all the options for Walmart's Family Mobile Plan look for the electronics section and you will find a display similar to the one below. You can hold each of the phones to determine which is the best fit for you. I selected the LG K7. To purchase simple take one of the cards with the correct model number to the cashier and they will get your phone. Don't forget to get the Nano Starter Package. Ecto Slime Popcorn
Ecto Slime Popcorn
Ingredients
- 1 bag Popcorn
- 1 cup White Chocolate Chips You can use candy melts as well
- 3 drops Green Food Dye
- 3 tablespoons Milk or Cream
Instructions
- Place popcorn bag in microwave and cook according to the instructions
- Melt the chocolates or candy melts according to the instructions. I prefer to use a double boiler. If you are like me and don't own one don't worry they are easy to make. All you need in a pan and a bowl (glass or metal) to go over it. The bowl should not touch the water. It creates a seal with the bottom pan to trap the steam produced by the simmering water. To use the double boiler, add water to the pan and bring it to a simmer, then place the bowl on top and fill it with whatever you intend to cook or melt. I like it best because you can match the chocolate so you don't overheat it.
- Use a metal spoon to stir the chocolates as they melt.
- Add in milk or cream a couple of splashes at a time. Continue stirring until it is all mixed together. Add green food coloring. I used three drops, but added one at a time to get the color to the right slime color.
- Keep stirring and before you take it off the heat you can test to make sure it ready to drip onto your popcorn.
- It will cool fast so drip it onto the popcorn right away. I dripped some on the bag to add to the décor.
