There are so many places to have a family picnic. From a local park, to the beach, to your own front or backyard the options are endless. This spot is in the neighborhood next to ours. It has a fun history. It used to be a drive through safari park called Africa USA. The lake makes it a fun spot for photos and a family picnic.

Speaking of food. For a picnic, I love to keep the menu simple. And one of my favorite hacks especially for busy times like back-to-school is to do take-out. The family meal deal gives you so many options with rotisserie chicken, three sides and cornbread. This was B's first time having their sweet potatoes, I wish I had recorded her reaction. They are so sweet and delicious you could enjoy them for dessert. We also got their mac and cheese and creamed spinach which are always family favorites. The chicken is so delicious and it falls right off the bone.
