I am an Evite® influencer and this is a post for device free dinner challenge is sponsored by Evite® #BeThere #Ad #DeviceFreeDinner.  All opinions and experiences are my own.

Happy New Year!  Do you make resolutions?  In the past I have not made resolutions.  Recently I have been more focused on setting goals in different areas of my life. Last year I made a goal to achieve balance.  With a career, family, friends and volunteering now I realize that balance may not be achievable.  So instead of balance I am going to focus on being more present.  So when Evite asked me with to take a device free dinner challenge I knew it was exactly what our family needed.

Kurt and I both admit to being addicted to our phones.  We model the worst behavior for Bailey.  Over Christmas break we have let our normal restrictions of YouTube slide from just quiet time to sort of whenever she wants to watch it.  This challenge has been great for us to re-establish our rule of no phones at the table.

    High and Lows

This challenge has been amazing for all of us.  This challenge got us back to sharing highs and lows for each day.  We share the best and worst parts of each day.  For Christmas we also got family questions that we cannot wait to use as fun conversation starters.  It is incredible when you put the distractions away.evice free dinner challenge, evite device free dinner challenge, device free dinner, device free dinner commercial 2017, device free dinner basket, device free dinners

    #BeThere Device Free Dinner Challenge

Evite has partnered with Common Sense Media to encourage everyone to put down their phones and enjoy in person conversations.  Evite invites help bring people together face-to-face.  My most memorable moments are shared around the dinner table.  The #BeThere Device Free Dinner Challenge is all about strengthen those moments by encouraging everyone to the start the year off right by going device-free for at least once a week and pledging to not text during dinner.

By agreeing to take the pledge, one lucky winner will receive a $200 OpenTable gift card for a device-free dinner with their family and friends. Just click here to take the pledge.

    Evite

Personally I love using Evite invitations.  They help make getting together effortless and more memorable.  It is always the easiest way to bring friends and family together for all types of events.   If you have older kids this Take a Break invite would be perfect for a family dinner.  If not it is a great invite to use for your next dinner party.  evice free dinner challenge, evite device free dinner challenge, device free dinner, device free dinner commercial 2017, device free dinner basket, device free dinners

This is such a good idea. I hate that we have our devices out during mealtimes (and often the TV running, too), but I'm not always disciplined enough to turn everything off. I need to work on connecting with my family more during that time. Thanks for the suggestion!

Such a clever idea! I think that especially these days people just won't let go of their phone - even the little ones, which is quite disturbing for me as I remember that back in my young age most of us didn't even have a phone (or any device really).
I think people should concentrate more on what they have right here in the present, on their loved once and on the REAL life. Instead, they find important to post their fancy meal to their Insta story...
