The Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line Ship
Bahamas Paradise Cruise Lines allows you to escape to the paradise of Bahamas via one of their two beautiful ships – the Grand Celebration and the Grand Classica. One of their two ships leave every day of the week from the Port of Palm Beach. We cruised on the Grand Classica. The ship offered 8 restaurants, 5 bars & lounges and 658 staterooms.
We had an ocean view room with not only a King-sized bed, but it also had a pulldown bed for B. We were pleasantly surprised with all the storage in our room. I loved the decor in the common areas and the restaurants.
Once in a Lifetime Experience
The first night on the cruise we were invited to the bridge to meet the captain. We were given a tour of the bridge and we got to meet the captain and his staff. After that we learned about all the flags that they have on board to communicate in emergencies. We also got to tour the side areas the captain uses to dock and leave port. It was about time for us to leave the port, so we went to say goodbye. Then, the Captain said would you like to stay and see how we leave the dock? Um...yes, please!
We went to the outside area where the first mate invited B to blow the horn to announce to the port that we were leaving. I will never forget the look on B's face. It was the most amazing experience. We had the best seat in the house while we left the port and made our way to the open ocean.
Did you know that a pilot boards the ship at the port to help guide the ship out of the inlet? We had a front row seat to watch the pilot at work and then to watch him jump off our ship to the other boat.
Things to Do on Board Paradise Bahamas Cruise Line
In the check in line we met a mother-daughter team who had been on the ship before, 2 times this year. They gave us great advice. Once onboard head all the way to the back of the boat to The Grill Bar.
Kid's Club
Originally, we were not going to use Kid's Club, but as soon as we walked by B had to know what was going on. She asked to go and every time we went to pick her up she asked to stay longer. B even made friends at kid's club, so she was counting down the minutes until we got back on the boat, so she could get back to Kid's Club again.
Bingo
B and Kurt loved playing Bingo.
Dining
There are 8 different restaurant options board the Grand Classica of the Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line. All with a different theme and budget.
When you check in you can make reservations for either the included restaurants or the options that include an upcharge. They also have a buffet option for all your meals. We found our favorite place to eat for the buffet for breakfast and dinner was in the Rock Grill. The food served included a wide variety of cafeteria style options.
Vegas Style Entertainment
We were very impressed with the entertainment on board. Each night they had a show at 9:30pm. I was a little worried it was too late for B, but the entertainers were so good we stayed up late both nights.
Swimming with Pigs at Grand Bahama Island
On our first family trip to the Bahamas when B was just a year old we took her to the pig island. She loves looking at the photos and hearing the stories. So, when we had the option to swim with the pigs at Grand Bahama Island we couple not wait. We were there on a rainy day, but still had a blast feeding Missy, Mya, Pinky, Peppa and Wilbur. They were adorable and very friendly pigs.
After feeding the pigs we enjoyed a Bahamian lunch by the water.
What to Pack
Your packing list for the cruise is very simple, bathing suits, coverups and causal outfits for the evening. The one thing we packed thanks to a review is a power strip. Our cabin had one outlet, so the power strip came in handy, so we could charge both of our phones at the same time.
Our Next Bahamas Paradise Cruise
B is already asking when we can go back on a family cruise. Bahamas Paradise offers you the option to stay on Grand Bahama island at a hotel. To do this you can book the cruise and hotel all through Bahamas Paradise website.
