The wait is over, Star Wars Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios is finally open. I am sharing my complete Guide for Star Wars Galaxy Edge Disney World with you. Thank you to Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek for hosting us.
Guide to Star Wars Galaxy Edge
For the third year in a row B selected a trip to Disney World instead of a party. And since Star Wars Galaxy's Edge is open it was no surprise that both Kurt and B were counting down the days and then hours until they got to experience Star Wars Galaxy's Edge.

When we originally found out that FastPass+ were not an option I was nervous that we would not be able to ride Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, then I remembered that last year, we were able to do Toy Story Land with no FastPass+ and got to ride all the rides too.
Since we had such good luck with getting to the parks early last year Kurt went on the hunt for hotels that would have magic hours.
1. Star Wars Disney World Hotel
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be available at Disney's Hollywood Studios during Extra Magic Hours—a benefit for Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels and Hilton Bonnet Creek. During Extra Magic Hours, one of the Walt Disney World theme parks opens early or closes later to allow eligible Guests to enjoy select attractions.
From September 1 to November 2, Extra Magic Hours will be offered at Disney’s Hollywood Studios every morning from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM. After these "extra" Extra Magic Hours end on November 2, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will continue to be a part of our regularly scheduled Extra Magic Hours.
When you check in make sure you ask for your magic hours cards from the hotel.
2. Overview and Location of Star Wars Galaxy's Edge at Walt Disney World
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is part of Disney's Hollywood Studios. They have two entrances for the new land, next to Toy Story Land or Grand Avenue next to Muppet Vision 3D.
If the land is at capacity, it is best to enter through Grand Avenue entrance and exit through the Toy Story Land entrance.
As you enter the land you enter into Black Spire Outpost on the planet of Batuu. As a guest you will be called a traveler as you walk through the street market, shop in the food stalls and enjoy treats like Blue Milk.
I highly recommend making a reservation at Oga's Cantina for a drink. We had no issues making a reservation and enjoyed the 45 minutes we had at the bar. There are some table as well as bars setup where you can stand. If you want a table you can make the request when you make the reservation.
If you’ve ridden Star Tours® — The Adventures Continue recently, you’ve gotten a peek of Batuu during the safe landing in the end scene. Want another look at Black Spire Outpost before you visit Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge?
3. Eating and Drinking at Star Wars Galaxy's Edge at Walt Disney World
If you have a reservation to one of the land's experiences, like Oga's Cantina, Savi's Workshop and Droid Depot, you can enter Galaxy's Edge one hour before your reservation begins without joining a Boarding Group. You can make a reservation up to 180 days out on the My Disney Experience app or at DisneyWorld.com.
Reservations are not required, but they are highly recommended. You can walk-up, but there is often limited walk-up availability. If you need to cancel, don't forget to cancel. You can cancel up to the day before without penalty, but no-shows will be charged.
Make sure to ask what the food tastes like on our planet so you know what you are ordering. The mustafarian lava rolls were amazing.
Not hungry you can always get a Coke, Diet Coke and Sprite in the thermal detonator.
4. Star Wars Galaxy's Edge at Walt Disney World Characters
The land is totally immersive. Kurt was like a little kid on Christmas morning watching the characters in the land.
Allow yourself some extra time to simply walk around so you can see the characters interacting with guests.

Never flown a starship before? Hondo Ohnaka is looking for discreet flight crews to deliver a backlog of hard-to-find items to particular clientele—no experience necessary!
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
Join the Resistance in an epic battle against the First Order on this exciting new ride.
This ride opens later Dec. 5, 2019!
6. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Walt Disney World Merchandise
Refer to your map for locations of the stores. There are no signs so make sure you explore all the stores. Even if you are not looking to build your own droid it is worth a visit to the workshop to witness the droid building process.
In addition those that are new to light sabers or have wanted to test one out, like Kurt, you can build your own. You are able to select from multiple Jedi and resistance handles as well as the ability to select the color of your light saber blade. If you are not ready to invest it is still a great experience to hold one in your hand even if just for a quick photo like Kurt did.
7. Dress up for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Walt Disney World
Don't forget to dress up in your favorite Star Wars gear. It will enhance your experience in the land.
