The holidays mean so much to our family.  We are a food family so the holidays means lots of cooking and baking. Which is difficult since we are also trying to eat clean. Life is all about balance right?  This is not a clean eating recipe, but since white chocolate is one of the only chocolates I can eat in moderation and oeros are my hubby's favorite dessert  these are ideal for our family.  And with only three ingredients and no baking our Oreo Cookie Balls are a winner!!!  These are as yummy as our no bake cookies and cream bars.

    Ingredients for Oreo Cookie Balls

    • 1 package Oreos (we used double stuffed because you can never have enough of the filling).  I have also read that people have made these with other flavors like nutter butters, cannot wait to try.
    • 1 brick cream cheese, softened (8 ounces)
    • 1 package white almond bark
    • Optional: decorative toppings (Bailey is in love with sprinkles and picked out the pumpkin sprinkles at Hobby Lobby)

    How to Make Oreo Balls

    Step 1:

Eat a couple of cookies.  This step is not optional in our house.  Then crush an entire box (minus a few for eating before and after) of the oeros.  We used our food processor because Bailey loves using it, but you could also crush them using a mallet or rolling pin in a sealed baggy.   Set aside some oreo crush for a topping later.

    Step 2:

Once the oeros are all crushed add softened cream cheese.  We put ours in the microwave for 30 minutes, you can also leave it on the counter if you can wait, we are not that patient.  You can mix with an electric mixer or by hand until it is well blended. Our cream cheese was so soft we had no trouble mixing it by hand.

    Step 3:

Scoop out and form into one inch balls and place on waxed paper (we used aluminium foil because we were out of wax paper).  And place them into the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

    Step 4:

Melt Almond bark.  We put ours into the microwave.  Be careful not to over cook it.  We heated it for 1 minute, but I recommending reading the package for heating instructions.  You can also use a double boiler or a glass bowl on top of a pan over the stove.  We put ¼ of the package at a time so that it did not harden while we were working with it. Dip each cookie ball into almond bark.  I used two tooth picks to get them out of the almond bark.  Place back on waxed paper/aluminium foil and add any decorative toppings.  Let them sit out to cool completely, then store in an air tight container in the refrigerator.
