Check out the highlights of our trip here. Here are some of the best things to do in North Georgia, Blue Ridge, and Georgia Mountains:
Where to Stay
The Mountain Paddle Retreat hosted us for the week. It is the sister property to Mountain Crest Cottage where we stayed in the fall. Mountain Paddle Retreat is just minutes from downtown Blue Ridge in Morganton. The owners did a full renovation last year and we LOVE their style and highly recommend both of their homes!
The owners literally think of everything you will need for an amazing stay and go above and beyond. The property is on a private 4-acre spring-fed lake. They have 2 kayaks and 2 canoes with fishing poles and life jackets. Fishing on the dock and in the canoes was definitely a highlight for B. She was out there from the moment we woke up until it was dark.
They also had a large fire pit with string lights overlooking the lake that was perfect for nightly s'mores. Thanks to the owners for all the supplies we needed. And a huge private hot tub. After that, we all enjoyed family game time in the basement with lots of games the owners provided.
The home is a beautifully decorated updated three-story cabin with 4 bedrooms that sleeps 10. Making it a family-friendly space. My dad joined us which was such a treat. We cooked at the home almost every night because it was such a welcoming space with a beautiful kitchen, outdoor gas grill, and screened-in porch. I really miss my morning coffee by the fireplace that was turned off with a switch. And the best soaking tub with a gorgeous view. They also have a washer/dryer, iron, hair dryers, extra towels, and much more!
