3 Steps to Prepare for Overnight House Guests

The holidays are here which means it is time for house guests!  I always like our guests to feel welcome.  I am excited to partner with Target and Scotch-Brite® to share my 3 steps to prepare for overnight house guests.

Step 1: Welcome basket - We include fresh clean towels, snacks, drinks, bath items and a welcome note telling them how excited we are to have them staying with us.  In our welcome note we also include our WiFi password and an overview of how to work the TV in their room.  Additional items depending on the guests: magazine, gum, lint roller, etc.  I basically live in Target so I am always finding new items to add to our welcome basket.  Anyone else mad for plaid this holiday season?  I cannot get enough of this buffalo plaid and candy cane white and red are always a winner in our home.  

Step 2. Food Requests - About a week before guests arrive I reach out to find out if they have any food restrictions or allergies.  I also like to know how they take their coffee so that I can make sure I have all the supplies ready for them. If I am planning a full menu for their trip I send the full menu to my guests so they can make any recommendations before I buy all the ingredients.  You can download my Weekly Meal Plan here.

Step 3.
